# Membership

> Associating users and customers with roles

Customer memberships are the way we track the relation between a User and Customer. The relationship can include when the date when the user joined and left and, their role in your applications.

## The membership model

### Properties

`user_id` *string*

Unique identifier for the user in your application.

`customer_id`  *string*

Unique identifier for the customer in your application.

`role`  *string*

The user's role within the customer, eg. admin, user, billing.

`joined_at` *integer*

Date when the User joined the Customer.

`left_at` *integer*

Date when the User left the Customer.
